Guys.  Is it comfort food season yet?  In my world, it totally is, so let’s just go with that.

Now, obviously I love cooking, and eating, and most of all family dinner time.

But, there’s just something I really love about really comfy and cozy family dinners.

Casseroles give me that kind of satisfaction, and because they’re simple to make my kids enjoy helping whip them up with me in the kitchen!

Some days are so busy, I enjoy the little 15 minute conversations I get to have cooking along side them!

I also grew up eating casseroles – I think it’s kid of a mid west staple to be honest!

So, while we don’t eat them every single day.  They definitely have their place in my house.

I’d say this ham and noodle casserole is a winner in particular because it doesn’t have anything….”strange” in it that most picky eaters will hate.

Just super tasty, diced ham (a great way to use up leftover ham by the way), lots of gooey cheese, and egg noodles.

I also love egg noodles because they cook up so fast, we can get down to eating sooner!

My preference is to serve a big salad or some fresh green beans on the side of this.

Not a fan of veggies in my casseroles usually.  But if you do like to keep it even more simple, you can add your vegetables (green beans, peas, broccoli etc.) in right before baking!

Enjoy this tasty (early) start to comfort food season!

We love LOVE this recipe at our house!! I have given the recipe to all my friends and they all say it’s a new staple… it is so versatile as my husband puts his fav spicy seasoning on his and the kids eat theirs as is! Thank you!!! I did make it with broccoli cheese soup because that’s what I had it in the pantry and that added some flavor as well!!! Thanks for an amazing recipe!!

Too many noodles. Use about 12 oz not 16 and is perfect. Thank you so much for this recipe, it was an unexpected suprise that my whole family enjoyed. It reminded me of a very expensive pasta dish I ordered at a high end restaurant many years ago that I never forgot about!

  3. Used Black Diamond, Mozzarella and Habanero cheese inside and then topped with some Marble for the last 5 minutes. The Habanero adds just enough zip to make it interesting.

Added broccoli and peppers in for colour and it was outstanding

This recipe has good bones but needs serious tweaking. It’s way too dry (and I used only 12 oz of noodles). It needs more ham, some vegetables (of your choice) for color, flavor and variety and some added zip.

First time I mad this it was delicious however a bit dry so now I add 2 eggs and replaced the milk with heavy whipped cream and add a second can of soup. I give the original recipe 5 stars but My additions are perfect for my taste.
Thank you for sharing this incredible dish.

We liked this casserole but if I make it the next time, I will either double the soup and sour cream or use only a bag of egg noodles (12 oz) instead of 16 oz. I felt it could have been a bit more creamy.
