One Bowl Chocolate Chip Banana Bread – The absolute best, super moist banana bread recipe that is easy to make in just one bowl! This banana bread is full of chocolate chips for even more decadence!
Just a quick note! This recipe was originally published in January 2017 and we’ve updated it just a tad to add a video. The chocolate chip banana bread stays the same! 🙂
Banana bread is something that I crave regularly, all year round. I look forward to cooler temperatures being upon us so that I actually feel like warming up my oven to make some!
Fall and winter are my favorite food seasons for sure. As you know, I love quick and simple dinners, but there’s also nothing I’d rather do than spend a weekend hunkered down in my kitchen baking away!
Actually, when I first started this blog about a year and a half ago, it was going to be pretty much baking recipes only! As I kept blogging, reading, and listening to everyone I started to understand that I would be much more of a value to you all if I posted things that we all need like weeknight dinner recipes!
Meals that are quick, easy, and not boring is what I was seeing that everyone wanted, and I enjoy making them and posting them just as much as sweet treats. Who would have thought?!
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread:
Making chocolate chip banana bread is a breeze with this simple one bowl recipe!
- First, you will want to mash your ripe bananas until they are as smooth as possible. Then, add your sour cream and butter to the bananas.
- Next, just drop in your sugar, eggs, and vanilla and mix really well once again!
- Third, we will add the dry ingredients of flour, baking soda, and salt. This is where it’s important not to over-mix. Mix the batter just until everything is combined. Then, fold in the chocolate chips!
Enjoy!

By far the BEST banana bread we’ve ever had. I’ve made this recipe about a dozen times and my husband and friends keep asking for more! SO good!
Do you use a glass or metal loaf pan?
Great recipe! My bread was fluffy and not mushy. This recipe is a keeper.
Can you make banana chocolate chip muffins out of this recipe?
This was the first time making banana bread. This recipe is so delicious. I used all brown sugar and it was perfect. Not too sweet and very moist. I will definitely make it again.
This is the best chocolate chip banana bread recipe I have ever made. My family loves it. It’s the only recipe I make now. The sour cream just makes it so moist. Just as soon as our bananas start to turn a little to ripe my family is begging for me to make it. It’s 5 stars in my book.
I love this recipe! I’ve added my own little twist to by using strawberries with it. If you haven’t tried it then I think you should. Besides who doesn’t like the strawberry banana and chocolate combination?
Delicious! I have celiac so used King Arthur GF 1:1 flour and it turned out great! I also used greek yogurt in place of sour cream. My new favorite banana bread recipe!
The best recipe for chocolate chip banana bread by far. I have made this one over and over!
I love this recipe! It always turns out delicious! One thing I always run into is that I end up with more batter than can fit in a large 9×5, so I buy two smaller 9×5 pans and make two loaves with this recipe. I cannot complain
