Instant Pot Country Style Ribs make a quick and easy weeknight dinner!

Yes, you guys!  Back in action with the Instant Pot!

After I used it to make the Instant Pot Spaghetti, I couldn’t wait to put more delicious foods up in this bad boy.

We’re also back in action with back to school.

I feel like moms and dads everywhere are torn on whether they’re happy to have their kids head back to class or not.

I’m in the “not” category this year.  Summer just went by way too fast!

Can they just go back in October or something?  Because, I mean, it IS really warm here still.

It should be illegal to send people back to school when it’s still warm enough out to go swimming.

Right??  Right.

instant pot ribs

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled food programming here.

I decided to go with country style pork ribs because they are so very meaty!

I do like baby back ribs as well, but I’ve definitely bought them, then been disappointed at the measly amount of meat I got out of it.

Using country style ribs ensures that everybody leaves the table satisfied!

Depending on your grocery store, sometimes these ribs are sold bone in, and sometimes bone out.  Mine were bone out.  But, either one will work just fine!

I love how easy these are and that I can have some tasty BBQ ribs on the table in about an hour.

Yes, I said an hour, but pretty much all of that time is hands off for you because the ribs are cooking to super tender perfection in the Instant Pot!

The dry rub for these babies is made up of spices that you most likely already have at home.

You slather the dry rub on.  Get some beef broth in the bottom of your Instant Pot.  Put the ribs in and pour on your favorite BBQ sauce.  Then, let it do it’s thing!

These boneless pork ribs will melt in your mouth, and become a new family favorite!

  1. I used boneless country ribs, and they turned out super tasty and tender. At the very end I threw them on a cookie sheet, covered them in extra BBQ sauce, and broiled them for five minutes or so. They would have been delicious even without that last step, though (that rub really gave them a great flavor). Thank you!

This recipe makes absolutely fantastic ribs. Unfortunately, I had to leave the peppers out for my wife to even try it when I made it, but I still loved it without the pepper which surprised me. We also learned my wife is not a fan of cumin at all when we made it the first time, but even with leaving that out I enjoyed them the second time.

I did add a step to sear the outside of the meat first on the saute setting just to give the meat a bit more texture. I deglazed after with just a bit of water.

I am glad to have a more flavorful and appealing texture recipe for boneless ribs than the one my wife would make in the slow cooker. Thanks and keep the instant pot recipes coming!

Just made it with 1.5lbs of country style ribs at 40 min cook time and it was very tasty. Falling apart tender. I used the BRITU rub recipe from the virtualweberbullet website that I always make and have on hand. Also, I didn’t have beef broth in the house so I used coffee as my liquid instead. Will definitely make again! Thank you for the recipe.

  4. I would do the 10 min cook with a quick release. Check the internal temp and if not at 135 degrees finish off in the oven, covered at 300 degrees. It is better to error on the side of being tender. Use only dry rub in the Instant pot and slather with BBQ sauce either in the oven or at the table.

  5. I have made this recipe twice. I haved used 1-1/2 lbs of bomeless coutry ribs, the correct amount of liquid, and 1/2 the rub and barbecue sauce. I used manual cooking for 45 minutes. The pressure dropped naturally after about 10 minutes.
The flavor was excellent, but both times the meat was definitely not “fall off the bone.” It was not so much dry as tough.
Did I cook them too long? Not long enough?
I would love some help because I really want this recipe to,work for me! My old oven recioe took hours, and with only two people to cook for, IP speed is really appealing!

The ribs should not be fall off the bone. They should be just enough tension to pull away from the bone. When internal temp reaches 135 degrees they are done reguardless of how long they have cook. Don’t rely on time but temp and they will always be tender and cooked just right.

      1. Thank you, baltisraul. Would you suggest I cook them a shorter time to begin with and then check the temperature or cook them longer to start with?

  6. I am making these tonight for father-in-law’s bday dinner and it’s only the 3rd meal I’ve cooked in my new instant pot. I plan to double the recipe. I know I should keep the time the same, do I need to make adjustments with the liquid?

Great easy recipe. I used 1 cut water and 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar in place of beef broth. I used frozen pork ribs and cooked on high meat setting for 40 min plus slow release. Also put on baking sheet and topped with a bit more bbq and broiled for 3 min at end.
