Sesame Garlic Ramen Noodles is the best ramen noodle recipe made easy at home with a simple and super flavorful sauce! Make ramen at home even better!
I grew up eating ramen noodles boiled right along with that super salty packet of seasoning, probably like most of us did! As we get older, and realize we probably don’t need ALL that sodium, but we do need flavor and quick, budget-friendly recipes, we start wondering what else can I do what that packet of crunchy noodles?! While we’re at it, this Miso Ramen is absolutely out of this world and we also love this tasty Veggie Beef Ramen too!
Ramen Noodles:
Packets of ramen are actually super versatile because they simply don’t taste like much on their own! Ditch the spice packet that comes with the noodles. When you use it, it kinda feels like eating salt water, because you basically are! My Sesame Garlic Ramen Noodles are one of my favorite ramen “hacks” because I can still take a product that is super duper easy on my budget, impossibly quick to make, and turn it into something amazing! The sauce for this recipe is full of garlic, sesame oil, sriracha, brown sugar, and soy sauce! Seriously good flavor here, and the sauce only takes 3-5 minutes to make, so it will be done at the same time your noodles are! This recipe has become one of our most popular! If you love it be sure to try this Thai Peanut Ramen Noodles Recipe too as well as our Beef and Broccoli Ramen Soup!
How do you Make Ramen Better?
Simple! Like we talked about above, ditch the spice/salt packet that comes with the noodles and make your own sauce! The ingredients for this recipe are sesame oil, packaged ramen noodles, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sriracha. The sriracha can be added to your own taste.
You will start by cooking your noodles according to package directions. While they are cooking simply heat your sesame oil in a medium skillet and saute the garlic for one minute. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the remaining sauce ingredients. Then, drain your ramen and toss them in the sauce!
You can then eat these noodles as are or taste them and see if you’d like more spice. If so, add a bit more sriracha until desired heat is reached. I happen to love sesame oil so I often drizzle more over the prepared noodles. Top these with chopped green onions, peanuts, or sesame seeds!
Enjoy!

Thank you a delicious and easy recipe. I fixed it for my family tonight and all four gave it a thumbs up. I added chicken and a little green pepper and onion and it made a great meal.
For two people, I use 3 packages of ramen noodles. And there is never left-overs.
I’m not much of a cook… this was easy & tasted great ❤
I make this often. When I sauteed the garlic I add diced celery, onions, Tianjin chilies, and cooked diced chicken. Sometimes cabbage too.
This recipe is delicious! The second time I made this, I added a small amount of ginger and it ended up being even more delicious than my first time. Highly recommend adding a slice of ginger.
Delicious, perfect with the chicken our son smoked. I did forget to leave the flavor packet out so a bit salty but that was my fault. Will for sure do again and leave flavor packet out.
Anything I can substitute the sesame oil for? Allergy to sesame in the home. Thanks.
Coconut or peanut oil
Coconut oil should also be good for this recipe. The tropical taste will go good.
Made this tonight and it was DELICIOUS!! I didn’t have green onion, so I used finely chopped fresh spinach as a garnish. My husband said it was the best (and proceeded to have me cook another batch…lol), and our 3 kids ate it up. I served it as a side dish along with some juicy chicken thighs. Thank you!!
YAY Nichole! I am a foodie and guess what? My cheat day would begin with ramen noodles often and now pinned your recipe for my next cheat day snack! Would you recommend replacing sesame oil with groundnut oil? Replaced Sriracha with Sambal oelek — TADAAAAA! Yummy, mouth-watering ramen ready to gulp.
This was delicious! I skipped the Sriacha as my hubby is allergic. It was still awesome! Thanks!
