Sesame Garlic Ramen Noodles is the best ramen noodle recipe made easy at home with a simple and super flavorful sauce! Make ramen at home even better!
I grew up eating ramen noodles boiled right along with that super salty packet of seasoning, probably like most of us did! As we get older, and realize we probably don’t need ALL that sodium, but we do need flavor and quick, budget-friendly recipes, we start wondering what else can I do what that packet of crunchy noodles?! While we’re at it, this Miso Ramen is absolutely out of this world and we also love this tasty Veggie Beef Ramen too!
Ramen Noodles:
Packets of ramen are actually super versatile because they simply don’t taste like much on their own! Ditch the spice packet that comes with the noodles. When you use it, it kinda feels like eating salt water, because you basically are! My Sesame Garlic Ramen Noodles are one of my favorite ramen “hacks” because I can still take a product that is super duper easy on my budget, impossibly quick to make, and turn it into something amazing! The sauce for this recipe is full of garlic, sesame oil, sriracha, brown sugar, and soy sauce! Seriously good flavor here, and the sauce only takes 3-5 minutes to make, so it will be done at the same time your noodles are! This recipe has become one of our most popular! If you love it be sure to try this Thai Peanut Ramen Noodles Recipe too as well as our Beef and Broccoli Ramen Soup!
How do you Make Ramen Better?
Simple! Like we talked about above, ditch the spice/salt packet that comes with the noodles and make your own sauce! The ingredients for this recipe are sesame oil, packaged ramen noodles, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sriracha. The sriracha can be added to your own taste.
You will start by cooking your noodles according to package directions. While they are cooking simply heat your sesame oil in a medium skillet and saute the garlic for one minute. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the remaining sauce ingredients. Then, drain your ramen and toss them in the sauce!
You can then eat these noodles as are or taste them and see if you’d like more spice. If so, add a bit more sriracha until desired heat is reached. I happen to love sesame oil so I often drizzle more over the prepared noodles. Top these with chopped green onions, peanuts, or sesame seeds!
Enjoy!

Definitely use low sodium soy sauce! I didn’t use is and now I understand why you need too. I didn’t have sesame oil so I used grapeseed oil and 2 teaspoons of sesame seeds. Still came out delicious! This recipe is a keeper!
I’m allergic to soy. Can you suggest an alternative for the soy sauce?
I believe that coconut aminos are a good sub 🙂
Tamari is a great gluten-free soy sauce alternative (I like it better than soy sauce even)
Everyone in my house loved this. Definitely will make again
10/10 would recommend it’s delicious ?
I cook every night and my kids generally aren’t impressed…or barely happy. I’ve never written a review before but this was a fabulous success so I owe it to you. Thank you!!!
WOW!!!! Made this for lunch today and it was FANTASTIC! I had run out of sriracha so I used garlic chili sauce instead and it was just perfect. Thank you for the recipe.
Thank you for alternate suggestion for Spicey.
Very delicious!! I will make this again!!
really tasty! I recommend it to all.
I was looking for something to go with ramen noodles we were making from scratch and this was perfect! I left out the siracha because me and my 4 yr old are wimps. Our homemade noodles turned out so good! We tossed them with this sauce, then added some sauteed veggies, soft boiled eggs and kale. So tasty and beautiful!
This was great! Thanks!
