This was soooo good!!! Made it exactly as posted and I love it!I may try a beef/sausage mix next time to see the difference, but it is seriously delicious as is! Thanks for sharing!!

  2. I made it just as prescribed! Delicious! Will be making it again! So glad I ignored the box of Zatarains sitting in my cupboard!

I made this today and made your drop biscuits to go with this. absolutely delicious. Of course I added a little more seasoning such as ground thyme, oregano, chili powder, cayenne pepper and two bay leave. Other than that this recipe was amazing. Thank you!

I made this recipe tonight with fried catfish and cornbread and it was amazing! I actually forgot my garlic and only had about a cup of beef broth left from another recipe but substituted the rest with water and a few beef bullion cubes and it was still on point! So glad I found this simple recipe I’ll have it for years now.

This is one of my family’s favorite dishes. Even my more picky eater will go back for seconds. It also tastes good using ground sage sausage. Thank you for posting.

    1. Forgot to mention that I use brown rice instead of white rice. I cook the brown rice in beef broth separately in a rice cooker and then blend everything together.

    1. I made this again today and doubled the recipe. 1lb ground pork/1 lb grou D beef. My son doesn’t care for veggies, but he’ll eat them in a well seasoned dish. I added chopped fresh spinach…. aka: chives 😉
I’ve also in the past added fresh chopped carrots. He eats more veggies than he knows.

Just made this tonight. I was a little generous with the Cajun seasoning, and also added a can of petite diced tomatoes. I’m really looking forward to lunch the rest of the week now, this is a great meal prep dish.

Love this recipe! I make it with blackened fish or salmon. All it needs is a butter sauce for my fish.

This dish is absolutely amazing! I made it almost just as the recipe states, except I added a bit more Cajun seasoning, a sprig of fresh thyme and two bay leaves. I served it with collard greens, blackened chicken, stewed okra and cornbread. The kids went for seconds and even thirds of the rice!
