Bubbly Pumpkin Margarita is a fun a festive fall cocktail that’s so simple to make and has tons of warm autumn flavor! This drink can be made as a punch for a crowd too for all of your holiday parties!
I have a sparkling pumpkin cocktail for you today! A pumpkin margarita to be exact. I also really love our Chai Spiced Fall Sangria, but this one goes out to all of the pumpkin lovers! This is the perfect pumpkin spice drink to sip on during early fall. It’s got the warming spices from pumpkin, apple cider, and pumpkin pie spice. But, it’s a chilled cocktail that’s nice before the weather gets too chilly. The best part is that this recipe makes a good sized pitcher! You can scale it up or down to fit your needs. If you’re looking for an alcohol free fall beverage, try this Thanksgiving Punch it can be made with or without!
Pumpkin Margarita Ingredients:
- Apple Cider: This gives the drink a really delicious warm fall spice taste! Make sure to use apple cider and not apple juice for the best flavor and results.
- Orange Juice: This gives a little bit of citrus that is necessary since we aren’t using lime or lemon for this margarita. You can use fresh or bottled, up to you!
- Pumpkin Puree: Make sure to use 100 percent pumpkin, and not pumpkin pie filling.
- Tequila: I am partial to Don Juilo myself, just use whatever you usually enjoy in a margarita.
- Pumpkin Pie Spice: This blends in and just adds a little more of that spice flavor we want. You can skip it if you don’t have it on hand!
- Champagne: Any will work just fine. I used a cheaper 15 dollar bottle and it was great. Use what you usually like to drink or enjoy in a mimosa for sparkling wine/champagne.
- Cinnamon Sugar: Just a mix of either granulated or brown sugar with some cinnamon for the rim!
A Few Recipe Notes:
- Unlike the typical margarita, this recipe calls for champagne/sparkling wine. This is where the “Bubbly” part comes in and we really love it! If you don’t like the idea of using sparkling wine, I still recommend adding in something bubbly. You could use an orange seltzer, lime or lemon sparkling water, a little lemon lime soda if you like things sweeter. Even a splash of ginger beer would be good!
- You can mix this up in a large pitcher, or the blender! This recipe makes about 6-8 drinks, and I like to blend it in batches in my blender to make sure the pumpkin puree and spice are all well mixed up. Then, just pour over ice and add the champagne on top as much as you want.
- Most of the time when I make this I just use bottled, pulp free orange juice because I always have it on hand. The orange flavor adds something to the drink but since it isn’t a main flavor bottled instead of fresh squeezed is totally fine.
- You can make this drink ahead! I find it best to use it up within two days after mixing it all up. Just mix as directed and leave your champagne/sparkling wine/seltzer out. Then, store in an airtight pitcher in the fridge. You will notice the pumpkin settles and you’ll need to kind of whisk or blend it up before serving.
Enjoy!
