If you’re ready for fall flavors but it’s still way too hot outside, these Frozen Apple Cider Margaritas are the answer! Once your cider cubes are frozen, the margaritas come together in about 10 minutes. Just toss everything in the blender and pour!

Frozen Apple Cider Margaritas
It’s safe to say that I’m a little obsessed with these fall margaritas. They’re equal parts sweet and tart with just enough cozy fall flavor from cinnamon and maple syrup to make me swoon! All you have to do is freeze some apple cider, then blend the cubes with tequila and some other staples that you probably already have in your kitchen. Oh, and don’t forget the cinnamon sugar rim. That’s what makes this drink taste even more special! Serve them up on big holidays like Halloween or Thanksgiving to make the day feel even more fun.
This fall, make more of my favorite easy drink recipes like Thanksgiving margaritas, bubbly pumpkin margaritas, and chai spiced fall sangria!
Can I make these without first freezing the apple cider?
Kind of. You could blend apple cider with regular ice, but the flavor will be super watered down. Freezing the cider itself gives you a much stronger apple flavor and better frozen texture!
How to Make Frozen Apple Cider Margaritas
- Freeze the cider. Pour the apple cider into ice cube trays and freeze until completely solid, at least 8 hours or overnight.
- Rim the glasses. To sugar the rims of the glasses, combine the sugar and cinnamon on a plate and stir to combine. Rub the rims of two glasses with a lime wedge, then dip them into the cinnamon sugar.
- Blend it all together. Add the frozen cider cubes, tequila, triple sec, maple syrup, lime juice, cinnamon, and vanilla to a blender. Blend until smooth. Do a quick taste test before pouring to decide if you need to mix in anything else.
- Enjoy! Divide the mixture between the prepared glasses and serve immediately with a dash of cinnamon, thin apple slices, and cinnamon sticks for garnish.

Make Ahead Instructions
The cider cubes can be prepared ahead (and really should be), but the margaritas themselves are best blended right before serving so they stay thick and frozen. If you’re storing apple cider cubes in the freezer for a while, place them in an airtight container like a zip-top bag so they keep well.
Ingredient Notes
- Apple Cider – Use your favorite brand, or go the extra mile with my favorite homemade apple cider!
- Tequila – Blanco tequila is my go-to because its clean flavor lets the apple cider really come through. Reposado is also good if you prefer a warmer cocktail. Whichever you go with, try to use a good quality tequila. As a rule of thumb, your cocktail is only ever as good as the liquor you use to make it.
- Triple Sec – Cointreau also works. Just note that it’ll give the margaritas more of an orange-y flavor.
- Pure Maple Syrup – Don’t use the thick stuff! Save that for your pancakes. If you really want to drive the maple flavor home, you can also add a very small splash of maple extract. Contrarily, you can use simple syrup instead as your sweetener if you’re not a maple fan.
- Lime Juice – Freshly squeezed lime juice is the way to go for the best flavor.
- Cinnamon – For even more warmth, you can add a small sprinkle of nutmeg. Be careful though, as a little goes a long way.
- Vanilla Extract – This adds a sweetness and depth that no other ingredient can accomplish.
For the rim:
- Granulated Sugar – You can swap this with brown sugar if you’d like.
- Cinnamon
- Lime Wedge

Enjoy!
