Cheeseburger Sliders feature seasoned ground beef, plenty of melted cheese, soft hawaiian rolls, buttery sesame seed tops, and burger sauce! It’s the perfect party recipe, since everything bakes at once. No need to stand over a hot grill and flip individual burgers!

Cheeseburger Sliders
Juicy beef, gooey cheese, buttery buns, and the best burger sauce you’ll ever taste. There’s a whole lot to love here! My favorite thing about making these sliders (especially on big party days like 4th of July) is that you can make a dozen at a time. It’s WAY easier than trying to flip a bunch of burgers on the grill! They’re ready to serve in about 30 minutes, come together with inexpensive ingredients, and can easily be prepared ahead of time. And don’t you dare skip out on the homemade burger sauce… I could probably drink it with a straw.

How do I prevent sliders from getting soggy?
Make sure to completely drain the beef as much as you can. Any excess liquid will soak right into the buns. Also, assemble with care! Placing the cheese on the bottom buns before the meat helps to create a barrier.
How to Make Cheeseburger Sliders
- Prepare. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the beef. Cook and crumble the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, then drain any excess grease.
- Make it flavorful. Stir in the ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, and cook for 1 minute.
- Cut the bread. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom half into the prepared baking dish.
- Add cheese. Arrange the American cheese slices evenly over the bottom buns and sprinkle with 1/2 cup of the cheddar cheese.
- Add the beef. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the cheese layer and top with the remaining cup of cheddar cheese.
- Top with the buttered buns. Place the top buns over the beef mixture, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle evenly with sesame seeds.
- Bake. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the tops are lightly golden.

Storing and Making Ahead
Once cooked, you can store these sliders in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. I recommend reheating in the oven for the best texture.
They’re also great for making ahead of time! Assemble the sliders through the step of adding the top buns. Cover the baking dish tightly and refrigerate. When you’re ready to bake, brush the tops with melted butter, sprinkle them with sesame seeds, and bake accordingly. Since they’ll be cold, they may need an extra few minutes in the oven.
Ingredient Notes
For the sliders:
- Ground Beef – Lean ground beef is the way to go, so you end up with less grease. You can also swap it with ground turkey if preferred.
- Yellow Onion – A white onion also works. I just like the natural sweetness of a yellow onion.
- Ketchup and Mustard – Just a little bit in the ground beef adds that classic burger flavor, as well as some moisture.
- Seasonings – Garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper create the best flavor.
- Hawaiian Rolls – Keep all 12 rolls connected when slicing them horizontally!
- American Cheese – This creates a melty, gooey layer that really hits the spot.
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese – If you have the time, freshly shred the cheese yourself for the best texture and flavor.
- Butter – Salted or unsalted both work.
- Sesame Seeds – I love the little added crunch on top!
For the burger sauce:
- Mayonnaise, Ketchup, Mustard – These create the base of the burger sauce.
- Pickles – Dice them up finely, or just use some relish.
- Cajun Seasoning – Every brand has a different level of heat. Add more or less depending on how spicy yours is.
- More Seasonings – Garlic powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika all compliment the Cajun seasoning!
- Hot Sauce – Choose your favorite brand. Add more or less depending on how spicy you want it.

Enjoy!
