This Pub Cheese Pretzel Dip is rich, creamy, and packed with bold flavor! It takes about 10 minutes to toss together and disappears even faster than that. Perfect for parties, potlucks, game day, or any other time you’re craving the best cheesy goodness.

Pub Cheese Pretzel Dip
This recipe is one of my favorite little secret weapons when it comes to party planning. I can whip it up at the very last minute and have a seriously good cheese dip ready to serve when my guests arrive! It’s got the best smooth and creamy consistency with a mouthwatering savory depth from beer, Dijon mustard, hot sauce, and more. Plus, it’s so versatile! Feel free to play around with the ingredients to make this pub cheese your own. And if you’re planning on serving a bigger gathering, you may want to make a double batch… This is always a crowd favorite!

What should I serve with pub cheese dip?
Pretzels (both soft and crunchy) are always a great option, of course! I love whipping up a batch of homemade pretzel bites if I have the time. You could also opt for something like crackers, chips, baguette slices, or even celery.
How to Make Pub Cheese Pretzel Dip
- Blend. Add all the ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Let it chill. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and chill for 30 minutes. This step is optional, but I really like the way it thickens the dip.
- Enjoy! Serve topped with chives and surrounded with pretzels (or your other favorite dipper).

Storing
Store your pretzel dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Such a perfect make-ahead recipe!
I do not recommend freezing this cheese dip. Because of the cream cheese, it won’t hold up well if frozen and thawed.
Ingredient Notes
- Cream Cheese – It needs to be softened to room temp so it’s easy to mix. If it’s cold, it’ll be lumpy.
- Cheddar Cheese – Sharp cheddar is my favorite to use since it has the boldest cheese flavor. Feel free to swap it for mild or medium cheddar if preferred.
- Beer – A lager or ale works best for a smooth flavor. Avoid overly bitter IPAs unless you want a stronger bite. If you find that the dip is too thick, you can always stir in a splash or two of more beer, also.
- Dijon Mustard – Don’t substitute this with plain yellow mustard! Dijon adds more complexity to the dip.
- Seasonings – I use a blend of garlic salt, onion powder, and smoked paprika. While I encourage you to adjust this as needed, keep in mind that I’ve found (with plenty of trial and error) that these seasonings best compliment the other ingredients and really create that signature beer cheese flavor.
- Worcestershire Sauce – This is a MUST. It adds an umami flavor that enhances all of the other flavors. It’s savory, tangy, and even a little sweet.
- Hot Sauce – Use whatever your favorite bottle is! Add more or less depending on your spice tolerance. You can also omit it entirely if you’re not a heat lover.

Enjoy!
