Jalapeno Poppers are the perfect appetizer for a crowd! Easy to eat and so delicious, fresh jalapenos are stuffed with Cajun cream cheese, green onions, salty bacon bits, and topped with melty cheddar cheese. Great for afternoon snacks or appetizers for a party!

Jalapeno Poppers
Crispy on the outside, creamy inside, these jalapeno poppers are super easy to make and oh so delicious! This recipe is slightly different as these poppers are baked as opposed to breaded and fried. I love how much you can taste the fresh jalapenos in this version. Start with cutting the jalapenos in half and removing the seeds. Mix up the filling by combining decadent cream cheese, salty bacon bits, savory green onions, and sharp cheddar cheese. Fill up the jalapenos, top with extra cheese, and bake until golden and bubbly. This recipe makes a ton of jalapeno poppers and can even be doubled if youāre feeding a really big crowd. Youāll definitely need to bake in batches if thatās the case though. These little guys are addictive which makes them the perfect appetizer for any kind of get together. They also happen to make an excellent midday snack when youāve got a group of hungry kids in the house.
Everyone needs that show stopping appetizer that will have the whole party talking (and begging for more)! Why not try my fantastic Fried Pickle Dip, these classic Bacon Wrapped Smokies, or a big batch of my addictive Parmesan Ranch Snack Mix at your next get together?
How spicy are these?
Honestly even though you deseed the jalapenos (which is where majority of the spice is held) the oils tend to seep into the rest of the jalapeno making them fairly spicy. The cream cheese does help to combat some of the heat but if youāre worried they have too much kick, try toning down the Cajun seasoning in the filling mixture. For a completely spice free version, use the same process but swap the jalapenos for small red, yellow, and orange peppers. Or do a mix!
How To Make Jalapeno Poppers
- Preheat. Set your oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Mix. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until nice and smooth. Then sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and mix once more.
- Fold. Gently fold in half the shredded cheese, sliced green onions, and chopped bacon.
- Fill. Fill each jalapeno half with the cream cheese mixture and arrange evenly on the baking sheet.
- Bake. Sprinkle each one with the leftover shredded cheese. Bake for about 20 minutes.
- Broil. Broil for about 2-3 minutes. The tops should be a light brown and the cheese will start to bubble.
- Serve. Garnish with some extra green onions and bacon bits if you wish and enjoy!

Storing Jalapeno Poppers
While this recipe is best served fresh, you can store leftover poppers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. I recommend reheating in the oven for a few minutes until warmed through. The microwave works in a pinch but doesnāt keep that crispy texture the broiled cheese gives the jalapenos.
Ingredients Notes for Jalapeno Poppers
- Cream Cheese – Softened to room temperature for easier mixing. Low fat or regular both work well.Ā
- Cajun Seasoning – Use any brand you like best!
- Garlic and Onion Powder – Try not to be too heavy handed with the garlic powder! It can be pretty overpowering.Ā
- Shredded Cheese – I like to use freshly shredded cheddar. Youāll need enough for the filling and to sprinkle over top.
- Green Onions – Sliced thin.
- Bacon – Cooked and chopped into small pieces.
- Jalapenos – Cut in half and deseeded. Or, leave the seeds in there for more heat!

Enjoy!
