Air Fryer Pork Chops Recipe

It’s no secret that I love my Air Fryer. It just makes life so easy and convenient! It’s quickly becoming my most used kitchen appliance for the time and effort it saves alone. These air fryer pork chops are proof of that! A new family favorite, these chops come out tender and juicy every time in half the time it would take to bake or fry them. Other than the method, the real secret to this recipe is the amazing rub used on the pork chops. Tangy dijon mustard acts as a base and then they’re generously covered in a brown sugar Cajun mixture that’s sweet, savory, and kist a little spicy. It’s seriously the best combo.

Now you’ve got the main event, what should you serve alongside it? I love to pair pork chops with Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes, sweet Roasted Carrots, and some savory Bacon Green Beans

Can I use bone-in pork chops instead?

You can! Some people prefer the thinner, boneless chops while others like a thicker cut with the bone in. I think both provide great flavor and either variation will use the same air fryer method. It all comes down to the cook time. Thinner cuts will take less time, thicker will need a few minutes longer on each side. Start with the initial 8-10  minutes and increase from there. For pork the internal temperature for safe eating should reach 145°F.

How To Make Air Fryer Pork Chops

  • Preheat. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F and spray the basket with your preferred non-stick cooking spray. Make sure to get the bottom and sides.
  • Prep. Prep the pork chops by brushing both sides with dijon mustard.
  • Make the coating. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, chili powder, Cajun seasoning, garlic and onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Coat the pork chops. Generously coat each side of the pork chops with the brown sugar mixture. Arrange them in the air fryer basket (you may need to do this in batches so as not to overload the basket).
  • Cook.  Cook the pork chops for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through the cook time.
  • Serve. Serve these delicious chops with your favorite potatoes and veggies, or any side you like. Garnish with a dash of fresh parsley and enjoy!

Storing Air Fryer Pork Chops

It’s important to let your leftover pork chops fully cool to room temperature prior to storing. Once cooled, you can store leftover pork chops in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop back in the air fryer for a few minutes until warmed through. Be careful not to overheat them and dry them out!

Ingredients Notes for Air Fryer Pork Chops

  • Pork Chops – You’ll want about 4-6 boneless pork chops. Be sure to pat them dry before coating them in the mustard.
  • Dijon Mustard – I think this particular mustard blends so well with the flavors of the brown sugar mixture. However, you could use honey, yellow, spicy brown, or whatever you like!
  • Seasoning Mixture – You can adjust the amounts for any of the ingredients. If you prefer to leave out the spice, omit the Cajun and chili. Or amp it up! A smoky paprika adds nice flavor as well. Be sure to use a generous amount of seasoning/mustard for your pork chops, this really seals in all the flavor!
