Instant Pot Spaghetti – The easiest spaghetti recipe ever! A quick recipe for spaghetti made right in the instant pot. Get a family favorite meal on the table even faster on busy nights!
Ok, you guys. I resisted as long as I could.
It was definitely time for me to get myself an Instant Pot, and see what all the fuss is about!
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll already know I bought one.
You may have been waiting and wondering what kind of dinner concoction was going to come out first.
Well, spaghetti it is!
It might SEEM boring, and unoriginal, but….c’mon, spaghetti is a total crowd pleasing, family favorite, classic.
Why not start there?
I was sitting around reading the manual for said Instant Pot and contemplating what to try first, when my son suggested spaghetti.
He loves spaghetti. Could eat it for breakfast, brunch, lunch, snack, and dinner. Not kidding. If you’re craving more pasta, try out our Stuffed Shells too!
Do any of you have an Instant Pot already? Thinking about getting one? I’d love to hear what you think!
For now, here are my first impressions.
Before I even used the thing my initial reaction was that this thing is BIG. Way bigger than my crockpot, and much heavier.
I got the 8 quart, which I’m happy about. Just saying, if you’re going to get one, make sure you have the room for it!
Definitely read the manual. If you don’t, you’ll probably feel stressed out and confused at all of the different buttons and parts.
My impression during and after making the spaghetti (which I did a few times to make sure cooking time would be accurate for you).
It was strange at first not being able to peek in the top like you can with a slow cooker. Ummmm, is this thing on?
But, you can definitely hear that there is some boiling going on inside.
It really did cook the spaghetti just perfectly!
The noodles weren’t “gummy” being cooked all together with the meat/sauce/water, which was something I was worried about.
I may actually like spaghetti cooked in the Instant Pot now, more than the typical boiling the noodles and putting it all together after!
My last but not least favorite thing is that this is a true one pot recipe. Spaghetti is always easy to make, but it also usually requires a pan for the meat, a pot for noodles, a pot for sauce, and a colander for draining.
One pot, and no colander needed here.
The meat cooks (I get super lean meat so I don’t even need to drain grease) then you toss in your pasta, sauce, water, and seasonings.
Dinner served in about 8 minutes!
How cool is that?!
Enjoy! Check out our video for this recipe below!

Delish recipe, I only had linguine noodles and it worked perfectly, I did add Tony’s Cajun seasoning and some more sugar at the end, but that’s a matter of taste bc we like bold flavors here, will definitely make again! Thanks!
I made it and followed the directions closely as I’m an instapot newbie, but my pasta was too firm.
I’ve had that happen a few times with other recipes, so I just cooked mine for 10 mins and make sure to have all of the noodles covered by liquid.
Any ideas if you don’t have jarred spaghetti sauce? Ideally, I wont have to make sauce separately, then make this recipe (like I did tonight). Seems there must be a way Thanks!
Don’t make it seprately. Just add all the ingredients of your homemade sauce.
OMG! I am a horrible cook. However, my first meal created in an instapot is this recipe. It is fabulous! The only suggestion i had was from my daughter. She suggested a second jar of sauce on the side. She likes a bit more marinara. OMG! This is the first edible meal i have cooked in ten years. My kids grew up excellent cooks out of self preservation. My daighter is scared to feed her son amy of my cooking. Huge family joke! Thank you
If I choose to make the spaghetti meal at the last minute and have a pound of frozen turkey, how does using the turkey frozen change the cook time?
I useful chicken broth instead of water and it turned out fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
I thought this was awesome. Next time I” “church it up” with 1lb of sausage as I was wanting more meat. Thanks for sharing!!
It tasted amazing but the spaghetti came out a little hard, am I doing something wrong?
You should keep the pasta on the top, not submerged in liquid. This way the pressure of steam is forced into the pasta, which will make it soft. You can layer it as ground meat, sauce, pasta on top.
Came out perfect!
Question: Has anyone tried different types of pasta other than the spaghetti? Also, has anyone tried this with thin spaghetti? I’m curios to know if the cooking time or water amounts would have to be adjusted.
Are use gluten-free fusillitonight and it was great. I didn’t have time to sauté the meat so I threw it in half defrosted and have frozen, broke it down the best I could and cooked everything for 15 minutes and it was absolutely perfect. Meat was a bit chunky From the frozen parts so I just broke it up before serving.
I use angel hair with no issue!
Can you use gluten free spaghetti instead and if so, what would the cook time be? Thank you!
I just did and it came out great! There was only one clump where I hadn’t separated the noodles enough. Just make sure you do and you’ll enjoy. Same cooking time with Barilla brand GF.
