Easy Baked Sopapillas

Easy Baked Sopapillas are light on the inside and crisp on the outside!  Rolled in melted vanilla butter and cinnamon sugar these sopapillas are fun and mouthwatering!

  • 1 teaspoon All Purpose Flour, for sprinkling
  • 1 Sheet Puff Pastry, thawed
  • 1 Stick Butter, Melted
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ½ Cup Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • Honey for drizzling


  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with a silpat or parchment paper and set aside.
  • Sprinkle the flour on to a clean and dry surface such as a large cutting board or counter top.
  • Place the puff pastry on the floured surface and cut into 9 squares.
  • Place the squares in a single layer on prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 13-14 minutes until golden brown.
  • Whisk the vanilla extract into the melted butter.
  • In a small bowl combine the sugar and cinnamon with a fork.
  • Dip the cooked puff pastry squares into the butter, then, roll in cinnamon sugar.
  • Serve immediately drizzled with honey as desired.
