Slow cooker pork chops are made easy in your crockpot smothered in a creamy ranch gravy

Well, it has been a minute or two since I posted a good old fashioned slow cooker recipe.  Super tender slow cooker pork chops smothered in gravy is something I grew up on, and something I still can’t get enough of even today.

Did you grow up eating pork chops on the regular?  Or was your family all about chicken?

My mom always mixed it up with a little of both.  I still appreciate that we never really ate the same things over and over, and hopefully, my kids feel the same way now!

Crock Pot Pork Chops is one of the most requested dinners from everyone in my house.  I’m happy to oblige because it doesn’t get much easier than this meal.

Plus, it’s just a really great comfort food style dinner.  Incredibly satisfying on these cold winter evenings…..and by that, I mean we have a heap of snow on the ground and I’m completely over it!

While I do love a good pork chop, I think the gravy is really the shining star here.  I could easily eat this creamy gravy with a spoon.  It’s just even better that it gets coated over some of the most tender pork chops you will ever eat.  If you love pork chops in the crockpot like we do, be sure to try these Slow Cooker Pork Chops with vegetables too, it’s an amazing full meal! These Baked Pork Chops are amazing too!

We really enjoy this dish with my homemade Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes and a big green salad on the side.

How to Make Slow Cooker Pork Chops:

One of the questions I get asked most frequently is simply how to make pork chops in a crock pot.  I think people love pork chops, but aren’t always sure exactly how to cook them so that they stay nice and juicy.

For the very best result, the slow cooker is the only way to go in my opinion!

  • You will want to season your pork chops really well.  For my recipe, we use ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, and pepper.  I don’t add any extra salt, it isn’t necessary.  I’d recommend making as directed without extra salt, then let people salt this dish at the table if that is their preference.

  • This Slow Cooker Pork Chop recipe calls for very minimal ingredients that combine for a truly delicious result.  I always have everything like cream of chicken soup, brown gravy mix, ranch seasonings, and beef broth (you can also use chicken broth) on hand.  So, this is really a nice “pantry staple” recipe.

  • Thickening the gravy is optional, but, I do recommend it!  After your pork chops are finished, you can simply remove them from the slow cooker very carefully.  Then, stir together two tablespoons of cornstarch with two tablespoons of water and add it right to the gravy.  Turn the crock pot back on high and you should have a nice thick gravy in just about 5-10 minutes.

  1. This is a solid weeknight low effort high satisfaction home cooking meal. Definitely adding to the rotation. I did low sodium broth and soup, added a sliced onion, but otherwise followed the recipe. did as someone else suggested and mixed together the dry rub ingredients, then dredged the chops through the mix. I used relatively thin boneless chops and they were falling apart at 5 hours on low. Served with mashpers and microwave green beans and almonds from the freezer. So easy for a Monday night meal!

  2. Can you please noe the amt of Hidden Valley ranch dressing for those if us using the larger container and not the envelope. Great recipe. Thank you.

Just Made this tonight. I used three large 1-1/2 inch thick centercut pork chops which was 1.32 lbs.
Followed everything suggested on the recipe plus I also included a pkg of sliced sauteed mushrooms in a Tbl of unsalted butter to the pot. The sauce came out delicious. The only thing I would suggest is to use “unsalted items” as much as possible. My Crockpot actually cooked this on low in the matter of 3 hours… on low mind ya… to an appropriate temperature of internal 145 degrees. So be careful, this might cook faster than you think, depending on your crock pot. I suggest checking the meat with a thermometer to be sure not to over cook it because it might dry it out. But what a delicious sauce!

    1. absolutely I make this dish at least once to twice a month and all i ever buy in use is the boneless thin cut pork chops that have 8 in the package and I use the entire package… I have a 6 qt crockpot i do this meal in… first i use non stick spray and spay down the crockpot so the gravy sauce mixture won’t burn too much on the sides of the crockpot and it also makes for very easy clean up when all done… i then add in the cream of chicken soup or you can do cream of mushroom as i have done this as well its very good both ways i never tried any other soups with this dish… then i add in the beef broth and i’ve done jared gravy for this meal and the packets of brown gravy… they both work out great… i whisk it till its all nice n combined… then I add in my pork chops and i cook this on high as it’s very rare I cook my meals in the crockpot on low… I have a pioneer 6 qt crock-pot with the dials of high low and warm takes this meal for me about 5 hrs and let me tell you them pork chops are flavorful delicious and falling apart goodness my family loves this meal … I dont always thicken up the gravy sauce mixture and its just as good … I hope this has helped answer your question have a blessed day :^)

      1. I apologize for not understanding, do I mix the dry ranch dressing with water and other seasoning then coat the chops? Or do I mix the seasoning and dry rub them.

Very good recipe. Perfect for a winter day when craving comfort food. I used the Au Jus gravy packets and only one ranch packet on the 2x recipe. The chops are good to eat separate with a side of mashed potatoes or I also used to fork to shred the pork and mixed it with the gravy and topped the Yukon gold buttery mashed potatoes. Soo good! I also added a little extra black pepper.

  5. This is a delicious recipe! I would like to make it tonight with little potatoes. Can I just cook them in the crock pot with the pork chops?

    Thanks so much!
