Sriracha Shrimp Recipe

This is THE summertime meal you’ve been dreaming of! Shrimp is one of my favorite proteins to cook during the warmer months and this recipe may just be the most requested by my family. The shrimp are oven cooked to perfection in just 10 minutes in the most incredible sweet, spicy, and tangy sauce. With ingredients like fresh lime juice, garlic and Sriracha, you can bet that this recipe is anything but bland. I also love garnishing with extra lime juice and a sprinkle of cilantro on top to really seal the deal on that signature summery flavor! Serve the shrimp over rice, in tacos, lettuce wraps, or all by themselves.

How do I serve Sriracha shrimp?

There are so many ways to enjoy these sweet and spicy shrimp! Sometimes, I like to plate them with toothpicks and serve them as an appetizer at summertime parties. They’re also fabulous when tossed into tortillas or large pieces of lettuce and served as tacos or lettuce wraps. They’re great when served on top of fluffy white rice – who doesn’t love a good rice bowl?

Ingredient Notes

  • Shrimp – You can definitely use frozen shrimp! Just let them fully thaw in the refrigerator prior to cooking. They also need to be cleaned and deveined prior to cooking.
  • Sriracha – While this is technically a hot sauce, it also has a touch of sweetness and a whole lot of bold garlicky flavor. I never find the shrimp to be overly spicy.
  • Honey – You can add more or less to control the amount of sweetness in the recipe. Try to use a good quality local/organic honey for the very best flavor.
  • Lime Juice – It’s so important to use freshly squeezed lime juice for the very best vibrant flavor! You can use bottled lime juice if you must but you may notice a difference in flavor.
  • Garlic – To get the most flavor out of your garlic, smash the cloves prior to mincing. You can always measure garlic with your heart, but note that there’s already a pretty pronounced garlicky flavor in the Sriracha and you don’t want to overpower the other ingredients.
