Chocolate Caramel Puppy Chow – A sweet twist on everybody’s favorite snack!  This puppy chow is full of crunchy rice cereal, packed with chocolate caramel flavor, and stopped with sweet powdered sugar goodness!

Chocolate Caramel Puppy Chow

Guys.  Please feast your eyes upon that giant bowl of puppy chow.

Now, let me tell you how long that lasted in our house.

It was gone in less than 24 hours.  We have no shame about it either!

Puppy chow is such a classic – I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone that doesn’t like it or hasn’t had it at least once in their life.

It’s easily one of my top 5 favorite treats and definitely number one for my kids.

You’ll know it’s their fave when they grab two handfuls at once and get powdered sugar all over their faces, and lick their hands….and you tell them to stop licking their hands then realize you’d do the same thing.

So, the kids may have done all the hand licking.  BUT, I totally snarfed down an unreasonable amount of this puppy chow.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the traditional version.  I also happen to find anything with the chocolate caramel combo completely irresistible.

Those flavors just go together, they’re married, everybody knows that!  Right?

Have you all had the chance to try the Chocolate Caramel from International Delight?

If not, you must!  It’s making me super happy to wake up and have something so creamy and chocolate-y in my coffee every morning.

It’s also the secret ingredient in this puppy chow!

The traditional recipe calls for butter.  This recipe replaces butter with chocolate caramel creamer.

Chocolate caramel in my coffee – Chocolate caramel in my snack.  I’m in love.

^^^ Isn’t Dan an excellent hand model?

I have to tell you he was slightly perturbed that he had to hold the puppy chow but wait to eat it.

Good thing he loves me.

So, I think most people have made puppy chow – but if you haven’t let me tell ya all about it!

This treat only takes a handful of simple ingredients, and even better it’s made and ready for snacking in 10 minutes or less.

I feel like it’s one of those treats that’s perfect for any occasion.  It’s portable so it’s a nice snack for road trips in the car.

I love it for any holiday because you can just sit a big bowl of it out and people can pop by and grab a handful or five when they please.

Enjoy this treat, let me know what you think of it!

    1. Hi, Jen! Glad you’re loving my recipes! You can warm the sundae toppings in a small pot on your stove. I would use the lowest heat possible, and stir constantly just until it’s warm. Hope that helps! 🙂

  1. It sounds delicious! What size box of cereal did you use? Also, how many servings do you think this is-I need to multiply it to serve a crowd.

    1. Hi, Beth! I used a regular 12 ounce box of cereal. This makes about 9-10 cups total, so it really depends on how much you want each person to have. The recipe is easily doubled if you’d like to do that. 🙂

      1. Thanks for your quick response. Now I’m going to try a small batch for my family.
